Are you a self-driven, innovative engineer with expertise in mold design and plastic forming technologies? Join our dynamic team to lead the development, procurement, and validation of cutting-edge molds. In this role, you'll harness the latest and most advanced technologies to design, produce, and maintain industry-leading molds, driving innovation and excellence in every project.
Key Impact Areas.
- Create and execute tooling strategies to achieve production objectives.
- Oversee new tool projects and the tooling repair department.
- Design tooling for large-scale machinery, ensuring compatibility with high-tonnage presses.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to enhance tooling and boost performance.
- Update tooling documentation and evaluate data for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Work with suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of tooling.
- Investigate new technologies for mold repair and maintenance.
- Team up with engineering to ensure product designs are moldable, suggesting design or process improvements.
- Lead process improvement efforts by exploring alternative methods, materials, and equipment.
Success Essentials.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Over 15 years of injection molding expertise, specializing in tool design.
- 10+ years of supervisory and management experience.
- Proficient in managing large-scale machinery and tooling for high-capacity production.
- Strong skills in project management.
- Extensive hands-on experience in mold design and construction.
- Skilled in 3D modeling software, including SolidWorks.
- Expertise in interpreting and utilizing Moldflow analyses.
- Knowledgeable in various mold materials and metal types.
- Advanced expertise in cold runner and hot runner manifold systems.
- Collaborative experience with engineering and technician teams.
- Deep understanding of plastics manufacturing, including injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and thermoforming.
- Experience working with diverse polymer types.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Flexible with frequent travel requirements, up to weekly, depending on project needs.
