Job Description:
We are searching for a seasoned Electrical Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of complex projects across multiple sectors. This pivotal role involves providing strategic direction and managing projects to align with organizational objectives, enhancing operational efficiency, and achieving financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of complex projects spanning various sectors and lines of business.
Provide on-site leadership, motivating teams to achieve project milestones and adhere to responsibilities.
Ensure alignment of projects with strategic objectives and report on success metrics.
Utilize strong knowledge of construction costs and financial projections to project costs accurately.
Identify and mitigate scope creep, manage design errors, change orders, and communicate effectively with project teams.
Successfully negotiate project change orders to increase profitability.
Innovatively solve problems and analyze project issues within a dynamic environment.
Contribute to establishing best practices, policies, and tools for project execution.
Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases.
Coordinate with general superintendents and foremen to review project labor hours and completion expectations.
Procure necessary resources to meet project objectives within established timelines.
Manage day-to-day project activities, communicate additional requirements with leadership, and monitor staff performance.
Conduct performance reviews and provide regular status reports on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
Act as an internal quality control check and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Assist in dispute resolution, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as required.
Support schedule management to maintain engagement contracts and compliance with project specifications.
Oversee all aspects of projects including planning, vendor relationships, communications, resource allocation, budget management, change management, risk assessment, and issue resolution.
Delegate tasks effectively and monitor outcomes to resolve conflicts and critical path deliverables.
Mentor and supervise project teams, providing effective leadership and executive-level communications.
Ensure projects progress according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Conduct research on project-related issues and integrate new technologies.
Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Essential Skills:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical construction industry.
Journeyman or master electrical license preferred.
Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.
Ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving situations.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to change and manage competing demands.
Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, and Blue Beam.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
Proficiency in drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending changes.
Proven track record of leading projects to successful completion on time and within budget.
Experience in team building and management, with both internal and external resources.
Ability to influence and gain buy-in from executives and stakeholders.
Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and timelines.
Familiarity with change orders, budgeting, scheduling, RFI's, submittals, take-offs, and buyouts.
E1/E2 electrical license preferred but not mandatory.
Experience in commercial, healthcare, and multifamily project types.
