Estimator – Heavy Civil
Location: Phoenix, AZ

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 (DOE) +

Purpose

Review blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for projects while ensuring cost efficiency and supporting successful bids. Experience with estimating on heavy civil projects - specifically highway, roadway or water wastewater projects. 
Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project documents to prepare detailed cost, material, and labor estimates.
• Track actual costs vs. bids; recommend adjustments and cost-saving measures.
• Collaborate with engineers, owners, contractors, and vendors to resolve estimate issues.
• Prepare itemized lists, bids, and proposals for management and client use.
• Conduct site visits before bids and during construction.
• Support long-term planning and business development efforts.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Construction or Civil Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of estimating or related experience.
• Strong math, blueprint reading, and construction knowledge.
• Skilled in proposal development, cost analysis, and vendor selection.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficient with construction methodologies, equipment, and government requirements.
• Valid driver’s license; for company vehicle.
